Several hundred pairs of shoes and socks will be delivered to individuals and families in need this winter as a result of the recent holiday drive led by Ankle & Foot Care Centers.
Across its network of 20 locations in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania, Ankle & Foot collected new and nearly new shoes donated by employees, podiatrists, patients and friends from late November through early January. The Salvation Army will distribute the shoes and socks to local individuals and families.
"Having proper footwear, especially in the winter months, is very important and we make it a priority each year to make sure more local individuals have good shoes and socks," said Michael Vallas, practice administrator at Ankle & Foot Care Centers. "We have been partnering with the Salvation Army for 20 years and would like to thank its professionals and our community for their support."
Ankle & Foot has collected thousands of pairs of shoes and socks since it began the drive in 1998.
Ankle & Foot Care Centers is the region's largest podiatric care provider, with physicians and surgeons serving patients at 20 local offices, located in Alliance, Andover, Austintown, Boardman (2), Campbell, Champion, Columbiana, Cornersburg, East Liverpool, East Palestine, Greenville (Pa.), Liberty, Niles, Poland, Ravenna, Salem, Struthers, Warren and Youngstown.
